tour de states

the story
“I want to ride a bike across the country.”

When Skyler Kern told his friends about his goal, they laughed in his face. He couldn’t help but laugh a little himself. After all, it was a hurdle that couldn’t be cleared without a great deal of physical, emotional, and psychological strain. His optimism was met with replies of “You’re kidding, right?” and “You’re going to die.” But for Skyler, their skepticism only warmed the bike seat.

Relay (and world) Premiere of the 1st FULL Trailer!
Posted on Mar 27, 2010 by Cory
I am currently sitting in the O'Connel Center in Gainesville, FL on the University of Florida campus as I write this. Why, you ask? Because Relay For Life, the very reason Tour de States happened, is tonight...and I'm there. I traveled all the way from Suwanee, GA (my current place of residence) to bring the first full trailer of the documentary to be shown to all in attendance.

The trailer was shown in front of hundreds in attendance, and was received very well! People gasped as they saw Nick's wounds, and laughed as they saw Skyler's futile attempt at fixing a tire. It was awesome sitting there with Kaylyn and Maxx, seeing our memories flash before our eyes in a matter of a couple of minutes.

Being at Relay for the first time since the trip reminded me of why this whole thing was started. The stories from survivors and family of non-survivors always puts things in perspective. I am proud to say we went on this adventure, all for the cause of cancer research and awareness. We raised over $1000 for Relay, and it's all because of you.

Thank you all for your support and patience. It means so much to us, as well as the American Cancer Society.

Without further adu, here is the FULL trailer for the documentary. Enjoy!!

To give a quick update, all of the footage is captured and I am in the process of putting everything in order. Unfortunately it has taken me a while to get started, as I had to buy a computer that could hold 25+ hours of HD footage, as well as make sure I graduated this past fall. I am now living in Atlanta, working in the promotions and entertainment department with the Gwinnett Braves. Now that I have a full-time job (where I am doing a lot of video), it will still be hard to edit as much as I want to, but my goal is to have it completed by the end of this year.

Remember I don't want to just throw something together. I want it to look as professional as possible, and I want it to be perfect. :-)

Thanks again to all who supported us. The trip is over, but the journey is not. Be sure to check back every once in a while as I give updates!

When you are in uncomfortable position and have no cash to go out from that point, you would require to receive the loan;. Because that will help you unquestionably. I take car loan every single year and feel OK just because of that.

I usually dreamt just about high academic grades, however, did not know how to do it. Therefore, my old friend adviced to order the term papers at the essays online service and that worked. At the moment, I have perfect research essays.

At present, a lot of students are pretty sure that the proofreading service should be the perfect place to order free term papers at. Furthermore, that's really perfect way to improve a writing ability!

Skyler

Age: 19, Hometown: Leesburg, FL, Major: Philosophy
Skyler Kern is out to prove that adventures still exist. In the search to do something epic, he came up with the idea of biking across America.

What's an interesting fact about you?
Towering over my parents, I am the tallest person in my family. I am 5'5.

What do you expect the greatest challenge to be?
I hear I may be destroyed by an 18-wheeler while riding through Texas.

Who is a personal hero of yours?
My grandfather. He took nothing and made it into something. The world claims that's not possible.

What is your biggest fear?
Taking advantage of what I've been given.
